A long time ago, Nusakan resided in Facinaturu under the rule of Orlouge. It was a timeless place built to house the Mystics there, but Nusakan found it wanting. It is, after all, rather hard to study the effects of viruses and the effect on the body as they run their course if you're surrounded by beings that do not get sick. So, Nusakan packed his things and left, ending up in the rainy city of Koorong where he set up his practice. Although he is skilled as a healer, the doctor rarely has opportunity for it. His building was set up in such a way that few people risked it, and those that did were the needy, the desperate, at the end of their rope with no place else to go and nothing to lose. These 'prime specimens' are what Dr. Nusakan was aiming to attract, after all.

Often times they died anyway, though not always from whatever they were suffering from. Every now and then one would survive and be cured, but at a cost to their sanity or soul. Rarely was the life saved left as one worth living. Dr. Nusakan did it all with a smile and a song, all in the name of science after all. In his time there he completely mapped the underground labyrinth of sewers, finding the location of an ancient source of power there. Sometimes people would come looking for it, asking him for guidance to it. Usually they'd die, but at least they'd provide interesting data. He joined both the magician Blue and the monster Riki on their quests, when they proved either brave or clueless enough to ask for his aide. Each time in the end he returned back to Koorong and his blood soaked clinic to resume his research.
